The Spirit of Prophecy and the New Song

Sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him. (Psalm 98:1)

True worship flows in the prophetic. When you spend time in the presence of God, you cannot help but to begin releasing what he is saying and doing. When you worship in the Spirit, new songs begin to form within you, songs that you have never heard or played before.

A worship leader learns to flow with these songs (whether they are started by the musicians or the congregation,) and to direct the musicians to “get behind” the songs. These songs are born out of the Spirit of God to release whatever God is doing. They may be songs of worship, exalting God, they may be songs of warfare, impacting the heavenlies locally or globally, or they may be songs that minister into a particular person’s life, bringing healing and deliverance.
Each time God does something unique. He does new thing s every day, and so if our worship services are the same time after time, then there is something wrong. When we flow with God, there is always something new to be sung and released.

A worshiper creates the worship of Heaven upon the Earth. I used to think that you must get into God’s presence, and then copy what is going on in Heaven. However, God recently corrected me on this, telling me that the worship comes from within us, and that the worship flows out of us to create worship that does not just copy what is going on in Heaven, but actually leads what is going on in Heaven!

In times of worship the distinction between Heaven and Earth fades away and we create worship that is just as powerful as what goes on in Heaven, and the Host of Heaven themselves follow us and our lead.
